I first developed an interest in nutrition as a high school runner and grew passionate about how whole foods can best nourish and fuel the body for sport and performance.
Early on as a student-athlete, I thought eating well was all about restriction, deprivation and following a prescribed plan. Adhering to this type of eating myself – I often felt miserable, obsessed over what I ate and expended loads of energy worrying about everything I put in my mouth.
Now, as a registered dietician and seasoned marathon runner, I understand how wrong and damaging that approach can be, but sadly, how prevalent it is in the athletic world. I truly believe that eating as an athlete means understanding how to fuel your body for what it needs, listening to and respecting what your body is telling you, enjoying delicious and nourishing food, and most of all, appreciating all that your body does for you!
If you can relate to this and feel like you are struggling with some of the same things, I’d love to help.

I developed a love for running and fitness from a young age, and did my first 5km when I was 7 years old.
During my high school years, I struggled with my body image in running, and was frequently under-fuelling myself and injured.
It wasn’t until my mid 20s after completing my nutrition degrees that I started taking care of my body properly so that I could do the things I wanted to do. I discovered a new-found level of energy and it was during this time that I found the sport I love today, triathlon.
As a registered dietitian and triathlete who has competed at all distances, I have seen firsthand how nutrition is truly the 4th discipline of triathlon and essential if you want to make it to the finish line. I believe in listening to our bodies and enjoying the food we eat. And, full confession, I don’t love spending a lot of time in the kitchen so I find simple ways to plan meals because I’d rather be outside training.
If you are an endurance athlete pursuing dreams and want to perform at your best, I’d love to help you get there.
